A Lincoln man is dead after an explosion in the basement of his home on Stanhope Drive at around 7:00 last night. Family members and neighbors told police the man, whose name hasn’t been released, had been experimenting with explosives in recent months. Fire investigators say there was little damage to the house.

Staff Sergeant Travis Mills, who lost his limbs in a blast in Afghanistan, will open the doors to his summer retreat this weekend, welcoming in others who suffered severe war injuries.
