As part of our jobs we're radio broadcasters and post regularly online; the quintessential communicators. So, I bet you think we're never at a loss for words, right? Well, that's not always the case, and more often than not, my colleagues and I wonder out loud, "What am I going to write about today?"

Almost always, the answer comes back from our company mentors, "Write about your life!" "Write about what interests you. It's bound to appeal to others."

I'm thrilled to tell you, aside from my family, dogs, and work, music is what my life is about.  When I'm not gathering, reporting, or otherwise digesting news and world affairs, I'm involved with music.

I consider myself to be immensely blessed because there are so many wonderfully talented musicians I can call true friends.

Right now, many of us are involved in the 8th Annual Music Off Broadway Show which will hit the stage the second weekend in April. The Producer behind the show's success for the last eight years is Bangor Rotarian Roger George.

"The best part of this show for me is that the money raised stays in our local communities and Rotarians are able to support several charities while entertaining audiences at the same time," George states.

Proceeds from this year's show will benefit the following organizations:

  • Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Midcoast Maine
  • Community Health and Counseling Services
  • Jobs for Maine Graduates
  • Ronald McDonald House of Bangor
  • Penquis Child Development

April 13th and 14th at Peakes Auditorium. Join us for musical fun...more to come I'm certain as music was meant to be shared!
