Woman Killed When Car Hit Utility Pole in Sedgwick
A 70-year-old woman died Tuesday morning when she lost control of her vehicle in Sedgwick.
Nancy Blastow of Deer Isle was traveling on the Snows Cove Road when the accident happened, according to police. The initial investigation indicates that Blastow's vehicle crossed the center line and entered the ditch.
As she tried to correct the direction of the vehicle, she lost control and it struck a telephone pole. Sedgwick Fire Department and Peninsula Ambulance responded to the crash that was reported just before 11 a.m.
Officials say the road will remain closed while crews replace downed wires and broken poles.
