The State Medical Examiner's Office says a woman whose body was found in the trunk of her car died of a drug overdose.

Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland says 30-year-old Jenna French died from acute intoxication of Oxycontin and Hydroxyzine. The Medical Examiner has ruled the death a suicide. State and Pittsfield Police have been investigating since the body was found on March 2.

State Police say the car had been towed to a local garage from the Walmart parking lot because French's family members didn't have a key to get in. The trunk was opened at the dealership and the woman's body was found inside. Investigators say French crawled into the trunk from the passenger compartment and then up-righted the rear seat. A bottle of pills and an iced coffee were found next to her body.

Determining her cause of death was delayed as the M.E. waited for results of toxicology tests.
