Woman Accused Of Child Abuse Death Files For Annulment

Sharon Carillo has filed for annulment from her husband, Julio, who her attorney says already had one or two prior wives.

Both Sharon and Julio are in prison, awaiting trial, for the child abuse death of Sharon's daughter, 10-year-old Marissa Kennedy. Her body was found in the Stockton Springs condominium the family was staying in nearly a year ago, when the couple called 911 for a report of an unresponsive child. The State Medical Examiner determined that Kennedy had endured months of abuse.

Sharon's attorney, Chris Maclean says Julio Carillo had been married once or twice before he and Sharon were wed. WABI-TV reports that the attorney filed the annulment after allegedly learning that Carillo had never divorced those other women.

Both Sharon and Carillo are charged with murder for Kennedy's death. There's still no determination on whether they will be tried together or separately.
