Windham Driver Seriously Hurt When Tree Fell on His Car

A Windham driver was taken to the hospital after a tree fell on his vehicle.

High winds this morning caused a scary accident on River Road in Windham. Police told WGME-TV that a driver was traveling in the area of Page Road, at around 7:15, when a tree fell onto his car, crushing the roof. The man continued to drive onto a lawn before coming to a stop.

Once rescue workers were able to extricate him from the car, he was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. His name has not been released, but officials say he's in his 60's.
