Here’s Where Folks in Maine Want to Honeymoon the Most
While there are so many amazing places to honeymoon in Maine, we already live here—so where else do we want to go the most?
Listen, Maine is weird—Mainers are weird. We live in a place called 'Vacationland,' but for those of us who actually live here, most days feel a lot more like work than vacation.
With that in mind, how do we know where we, as Mainers, most want to honeymoon? Was there a survey taken that we somehow missed?
The article ‘Favorite Honeymoon Spots for Each US State’ on Chris Cruises is based on research by Honeymoon Always, which analyzed Google Trends data to determine the most-searched-for honeymoon destinations in each state. Dan Bagby of Honeymoon Always noted that while some destinations are widely searched, not everyone follows through due to factors like cost and travel time.
Alright, now that we've covered that, where are folks in Maine looking to honeymoon, and why do we want to go there?
According to Google Trends data available to us, the most searched honeymoon destination among Mainers is Antigua, an island in Antigua and Barbuda.

Additionally, our Pine Tree State is the only state that picked Antigua as its top honeymoon destination.
With our long, cold winters, it’s no surprise that Mainers want a warm, tropical getaway to celebrate their new marriage—and the Caribbean is about as perfect as it gets!
Well, there you have it! Mainers are most interested in honeymooning in Antigua. Whether they actually go is another story—but at least we know where we want to go!
What are your thoughts on Antigua being the top honeymoon destination for Mainers? Where did you go, or where would you love to go? We'd love to hear from you! Join the conversation by messaging us on the app.
