Here Are The Funniest + Strangest Street Names in Maine

A debate over changing the name of Katies Crotch Rd. in Embden a few years ago brought to our attention how many funny and strange road names we have here in Maine. Here are some of our favorites!

It seems quite a few people think that the name 'Katies Crotch Rd.' is funny. Because of this it gets stolen quite a bit costing the town money every time to replace it. We found out this also is a problem in Hollis where the sign for 'Shy Beaver Rd.' is now on an extra tall post.

We did a search for some other funny or strange street names in Maine and here's what we came up with:

• Alcohol Mary Rd.- Greenwood
• Jackass Annie Way- Minot
• Booby Twin Rd.- Andover
• Old Bloody Hill Rd.- Lewiston
• Blood Hill Rd.- Holden
• Boo Lane- Skowhegan
• Devils Highway- Phippsburg

These two are funny and typical Maine

• Goah Way- Turner, Monmouth, Edgecomb, Liberty
• Uptha Rd.- Casco
