Maine's West Forks Riverfest Has Whitewater Rafting for All Skill Levels

Maine has an amazing assortment of waterways, from serene lakes and ponds full of fish, rivers that used to help woodsmen move their timber, and the incredible rushing whitewater that calls to our adventurous side.

Water lovers will want to be in West Forks this weekend for Riverfest, a celebration of Maine's wild waterways. If whitewater rafting is your passion, this is the event for you.

They have whitewater rafting adventures planned for all skill levels, from Class II rapids on the Dead River to high-volume Class II-IV rapids on the Kennebec.

West Forks Riverfest is also the site for Maine's premier kayak racing series on the Kennebec River Gorge, including an awards ceremony planned for Sunday.

West Forks Riverfest Will Have Food, Handmade Maine Products, and Fun for Kids

While you're there, pick up some delicious food from Marshall's BBQ and wander around the West Forks Riverfest vendor area for handmade items from local artisans and the latest in outdoor and river gear.

The kids will have fun in the children's area, with activities and face painting.

Mr. and Mrs. Claus will be there, as well as Chainsaw artist Brad Clark.

West Forks Riverfest, Maine, Will Feature Live Music and Fun

And then, as the sun begins to set, it's time to slow down and enjoy live music from Jake Hale, Hambone, and Water Over Rocks.
