Weekend Storm Could Bring Significant Snow To Much Of Maine
Much of Maine is forecast to see soaking rain followed by spring snow, late this week into the weekend.
The National Weather Service is forecasting a stormy weekend. After a balmy first half of the week, two storms will bring a mixed bag of precipitation to much of Maine. The first storm system will approach Thursday night, bringing up to an inch of rain to the Bangor area Friday. Northern areas may see a change over to snow Friday night into Saturday morning. A few inches of accumulation is possible. Slushy, messy roads are expected Saturday morning, but melting by midday.
Forecasters say, "another storm will move in on Sunday possibly bringing significant snow to central and northern parts of the area Sunday afternoon through Sunday night." They add, "snow melt, and rain at the end of the week, will likely cause significant rises on the rivers and movement of ice.
