A Waterville man is facing charges after he was found with a missing 4-year-old child.

Brandon Phair, 37, of Waterville, is charged with kidnapping and criminal restraint.

Waterville, Maine Man Accused of Kidnapping a Fairfield Child

He was taken to the Somerset County Jail, where his bail was set at $500,000 cash.

Fairfield Police were first alerted to this situation just before 3:00 on the afternoon of June 27, 2026.

Officers responded to a residence on Main Street in Fairfield, where a 4-year-old child had gone missing.

A search of the home turned up no sign of the child, so it was expanded beyond the residence, with help from multiple first responder agencies.

As the police investigated, they developed information that led them to a Waterville residence.

When officers went to the home, they located the child and transported them to a local hospital as a precaution.

Brandon Phair was arrested and taken to jail.

Fairfield Police say Phair was knosn to one of the residents of the house in Fairfield but is not related to the child.

Additional charges are anticipated as the investigation continues.
