Maine Game Wardens are investigating an ATV accident over the weekend that killed a Montville woman.

Officials say 30-year-old Rachel Curtis was a passenger on a Polaris Sportsman 850 ATV when the accident occurred just before noon on Sunday. At the time of the crash, the ATV was traveling on a dirt road in the Frye Mountain Wildlife Management area, about a mile from the main road.

Wardens are working with the Waldo County District Attorney's office to determine whether the ATV driver will face charges for the crash. Game Wardens were assisted by the Maine State Police and the Montville Fire Department. The 5,200 acre Frye Mountain Wildlife Management area is owned and managed by the Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife.
