During a virtual event is set for Friday, folks can chat with a Maine Game Warden.

The Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife is hosting a special virtual check in with the Maine Warden Service. The event will stream live Friday at 9:30 A.M. Warden Service Colonel Dan Scott will be chatting about 2021 safety reminders, the warden service hiring process, and what's rewarding about being a Maine Game Warden.

Back in November, the Maine Warden Service began a campaign to hire on more members to the team. The Warden Service is in search of seasonal, part time, Deputy Wardens for next year. According the online help wanted ad, "Deputy’s primary mission will include, educating the boating public, handing out department-sponsored literature, issuing warnings and summonses for boating violations." The season would run between May 9th until the end of August, 2021.

The push to recruit more Wardens ended in December, but the department is still hiring. More info can be found online.
