Vassalboro Father Accused Of Assaulting Infant Son

A Vassalboro man is facing charges for allegedly assaulting his infant son earlier this year.

Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland says 23-year-old Dylan J. Wood's 8-month-old son, Blaze, has been hospitalized at Maine Medical Center since he was admitted on January 2 with serious injuries. Police have not released any information about how the baby was hurt.

Dylan Wood  was arrested on Saturday, March 16th and charged with Aggravated Assault. He was taken to the Kennebec County Jail, where has since been released on bail.

Police have been working with the Kennebec County District Attorney's Office, who decided last week to charge him with the felony assault charge.
