If you’ve ever wanted to drink like a president, now’s your chance!
Grant’s alleged favorite is surprisingly simple, making it all the more relatable. Pair that with Mashed’s roundup of ‘All The U.S. Presidents And Their Favorite Drinks,’ and we’ve got a full list of presidential favorites to explore.
So, with that said, what drink, available in Maine, was the 18th U.S. President’s favorite?
According to Mashed and their list of ‘All The U.S. Presidents And Their Favorite Drinks,’ Ulysses S. Grant was reportedly a big fan of whiskey, specifically Old Crow, a Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey. Mashed had the following to say about the Civil War hero and U.S. President’s drink of choice:
Those who'd like to drink like the Civil War commander can likely still find Grant's favorite Old Crow bourbon at their local liquor store, or at least a version of it. The current-day bourbon is 80-proof, with a medium-gold color, an aroma of honey, candy corn, and ripe citrus, as well as flavor notes that include vanilla, caramel, and oak.
There you have it—Ulysses S. Grant loved Old Crow.
What are your thoughts on Grant’s drink of choice being Old Crow bourbon whiskey? Have you ever had it? What do you think of it? We’d love to hear from you! Feel free to join the conversation by messaging us on the app.
