In separate accidents on Saturday, motorcyclists were killed when vehicles pulled into their path of travel.

Maine State Police say one accident happened just before 3:30 Saturday afternoon, on Route 7 in Corinna. A motorcycle, driven by 22-year-old Jakob Murray of Belgrade, was traveling south when the driver of a Buick failed to see the bike and turned in front of him. Murray was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information about the accident is urged to call 973-3700, extension 9. Maine State Police were assisted at the scene by the Corinna Fire Department.

The second accident happened on Route 133 in Wayne on Saturday. A motorcycle, driven by 58-year-old Scott Evans of Livermore Falls, was traveling southeast at the time of the crash. A vehicle driven by 76-year-old Sandra Porter of North Monmouth pulled into his path of travel, as she was backing into the road near the intersection of Mullens Road and Route 133. Evans motorcycle struck the passenger side of Porter's vehicle, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Porter and her passenger, 57-year-old Kimberly King of Wayne, both suffered minor injuries.

This crash remains under investigation. State Police were assisted at the scene by members of Winthrop Ambulance, Wayne Fire Department, Readfield Fire Department, and Fayette Fire Department. No Preference Towing impounded both vehicles.
