
Maine Firefighter Injured in a Trenton House Fire
A firefighter suffered multiple injuries while battling a house fire in Trenton.
Trenton, Maine Homeowner Escaped Unharmed From House Fire
A home in Trenton is a total loss after a fire consumed the building and its contents.
Thankfully, the homeowner was able to escape the fire unharmed.
When crews from multiple towns responded to the multi-story home at around 6:30 Monday evening, they found heavy fire conditions.
Trenton, Maine House Destroyed by Fire
Battling a fire is always dangerous, but in this case, the conditions became even more hazardous then the second floor of the house collapsed. This was followed by a partial roof collapse.
The Trenton Volunteer Fire Department reports one firefighter was injured when the floor collapsed. The individual, whose identity was not released, was taken to a local hospital and treated for a concussion, as well as neck and back injuries.
Trenton, Maine House Fire Claimed Thousands of Books and Vinyl Records
Officials say the home contained approximately 20,000 books and a good-sized vinyl record collection, which contributed to feeding the fire.
Because of the extent of the fire involvement and the significant structural failure, an excavator was used to assist in extinguishing the blaze, to ensure the safety of firefighters.
The cause of the fire is now under investigation by the State Fire Marshal's Office.
