Transient in Bangor Charged in Robbery After Alleged Attack
A man was charged with robbery after police say he attacked a person in the middle of the street Thursday night
Ricky Hendsbee, 39, listed as a transient, was apprehended by police who reportedly found him attacking a person in the middle of Union Street near Columbia Street at about 11 p.m. Officers intervened and took Hendsbee into custody.
Police say the person had allegedly just caught Hendsbee in the act of burglarizing 72 State Street, and advised police.
Hendsbee reportedly refused to stop when confronted by the complainant, then walked off with a backpack, allegedly filled with items from 72 State Street. The complainant followed Hendsbee and at one point, Hendsbee allegedly knocked a phone from the complainant’s hand to prevent being photographed.
Hendsbee, who has several sets of bail conditions, was taken to the Penobscot County Jail. He’s been charged with felony robbery and violation of condition of bail.
