Traffic lights hanging low at the Maine Coast Mall intersection on High Street in Ellsworth caused delays for drivers Thursday.

Police around noon said the road was closed to southbound traffic, and drivers were urged to seek an alternate route.

About an hour later, police said crews were still making repairs to the lights, and traffic was moving slowly through the intersection.

The temporary lights were installed Wednesday after a crash at the intersection.
