‘Thundersnow’ Reported In Northern Maine
Northern Maine experienced a rare weather phenomenon during Tuesday's snow storm... thundersnow.
The National Weather Service in Caribou received a report of thundersnow Tuesday. Maine's first major winter storm produced a rumble of thunder in the town of Mars Hill. Forecasters say "thundersnow is more common in Mars Hill due to the wind turbines."
Bangor is expected to see 6-8 inches of snow Tuesday. There will be lesser amounts Downeast.
