Now in Old Town, now it’s mask up, or head out.

An issue that continues to polarize people has now come down to basically, an ultimatum. A few weeks back, there was a scare where 16 Old Town students tested positive for the Delta strain variant of COVID-19, which then drove over 100 students back to remote learning while under quarantine after being exposed to the virus.

Old Town High School apparently has seen and heard enough. There is now a three-strike rule in place in the building that will now be enforced.

Here is how their 3-strike rule breaks down:

Strike 1: A reminder from a teacher to wear a mask
Strike 2: If ignored, the student is sent to the office
Strike 3: The student is sent home for the remainder of the day

As you can imagine, this is a very controversial edict, but that is pretty much how it is just about everywhere in not only the state of Maine but all over the United States now. This remains a hot button issue that has been the source of very furious debate, and it looks like there is no end in sight. And in some instances, it is sparking some rage and anger in folks.

Earlier this week, things got a little out of hand on Wednesday, where at a school board meeting of Messaloneskee Middle School in Oakland, an anti-masker parent let her feelings be known on this subject, and she unleashed some rather salty NSFW language on this matter. Keep that in mind when watching the video!
