Lincoln Police say a report of a theft at Marden's ended with the woman also charged with drug trafficking.

According to a post on the Lincoln Police Department's Facebook page, the incident happened on Monday, August 2nd. Officers were called to Marden's for a report of a theft. The caller told them that the woman was just leaving the store in a red Ford Ranger.

When police caught up to the vehicle, they approached the driver, 39-year-old Casey Chase from Dover-Foxcroft. A search of Chase's vehicle netted the officers the stolen merchandise, but also over 21 grams of methamphetamine, $3,400 in cash, two scales, and various packaging materials.

Chase was arrested and charged with theft by unauthorized taking, trafficking, possession of a schedule W drug, and operating under the influence.
