Teen Dies After Accidentally Shooting Himself During Video Chat

A New Sharon teenager has died after accidentally shooting himself.

The Franklin County Sheriff's Office says the 16-year-old was video-chatting with a friend on Monday, when the accident happened at a home on Industry Road just before 3:00 in the afternoon. Sheriff Scott Nichols told WABI-TV it was a 'horrific accident.'

The teen's name has not been released, but police say he attended Mt. Blue High School.
