With the Daytona 500 just a few days behind us, the win by Jimmie Johnson and the effort of Danica Patrick has been overshadowed by the crash. Word has it that raceway officials are looking into somehow making the catch fence safer for spectators...

Congratulations to Jimmie Johnson and his second Daytona 500 win. Certainly the race was overshadowed by the crash that injured so many fans, but drivers were able to get right back at it again. And on a side note, many fans were pulling for Danica Patrick, including yours truly...

It was Jeff Gordon in the winner's circle at the end of the day at Homestead-Miami Speedway on Sunday, but the night belonged to Brad Keselowski, winner of the 2013 Sprint Cup Championship.

For the second straight week, Jimmie Johnson found himself in victory lane, as he took the checkered flag at the AAA Texas 500 at the Texas Motor Speedway on Sunday. It was Johnson's fifth victory of the season and the 60th of his impressive career.

Jimmie Johnson stood in victory lane on Sunday after winning the Tums Fast Relief 500 in Martinsville, Virginia. It was Johnson's fourth victory of the season and his first in the 10-race championship series.

Race number six in the Chase for the Sprint Cup Championship took place on Sunday at Kansas Speedway, and Matt Kenseth took the checkered flag. Kenseth's victory at the Hollywood Casino 400 was his third of the season and second in the 10-race chase.

Clint Bowyer won his third race of the season and his first in the 10-race Chase for the Sprint Cup Championship at the Bank of America 500 on Saturday Night.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. will not compete in the upcoming NASCAR Sprint Cup Series events at Charlotte Motor Speedway and Kansas Speedway after being diagnosed with a concussion following the Oct. 7 race at Talladega, Ala.
