Swimmer Dies After Being Hit By Motorboat

A Lincolnville woman was killed Thursday when she was hit by a motorboat while swimming.

WABI-TV reports 32-year-old Kristen McKellar was swimming with a friend on Damariscotta Lake at around 8:45 last night when she was hit by a motorboat being operated by a man from Massachusetts. The driver and his passengers immediately tried to help the woman until emergency crews could arrive, but to no avail.

The Warden Service is investigating the incident.
