Oh I can hardly wait. 20 State Street is the location for Sugar Ray. Opening day expected to be Tuesday May 2nd.

But, maybe they’ll just do a soft opening before that, because why not. When the cakes, and cookies and pastries and pies and donuts are ready, they’ll be ready and they shall open.

The owner is Rian. She says she has been running a baking business for many years, just through word of mouth and social media posts that garner much interest.

Now she has taken the next step and will not only offer baking by special order, but will also have a walk in business from 8 am to 4 pm, Tuesdays to Saturdays, for carry out.

Coffee, donuts, pastries, cupcakes, whoopie pies, scones. Different items different days.

Those above are shortbread cookies with a filling. Those are raspberry.

They will even have flakies. Flakies are from Canada, but Rian is pure Maine. Through and through.

Can she bake a pie?  How about raspberry / peach.

Oh and the name? It is not from the pop group Sugar Ray. Rian as a school kid was nicknamed Ray which became Ray Ray, which has now become Sugar Ray.
