Forecasters are warning of the possibility of strong thunderstorms around the state Monday.

The National Weather Service is advising those who have outdoor plans Monday to keep an eye to the sky. Strong thunderstorms may pop up around the Bangor area today. The greatest potential for severe storms is from the Moosehead Lake area, south to the Bangor region.

The NWS says Monday's storms may produce damaging winds, hail and localized flash flooding. Storms are expected to pop up around the area this afternoon into the evening.
