Take an early morning walk with us along the Brewer Riverwalk.

The 1.1mile-long trail between Hardy Street and State Street is still pretty new to most of us, and if you haven't had the opportunity to take the stroll along the Brewer side of the Penobscot River then we highly advise that you do so! It's the perfect place to stretch your legs and get a little exercise, or to "mellow out" in the middle of another stressful workday.

The paved trail gives a vantage point to all three bridges that cross between Brewer and Bangor and the Bangor Waterfront. There's plenty of park benches along the way to sit and take in the sights, and even a few picnic tables to sit at and eat lunch or dinner by Mason's Brewing Company.

At the north end, there's even a table available that sits up within a very peaceful setting that sports a full set of pieces to play the game of chess. Halfway along the trail one comes across the Brewer Children's Garden with its beautiful plants and small frog pond.

The 10-foot wide trail is fully illuminated at night with decorative street lights and security cameras are used from one end to the other. The City of Brewer also provides free wi-fi for 90 minutes per user.

There's plenty of places to park the car or truck and then to hope aboard the paved Brewer Riverwalk. Parking is available at the corner of Penobscot and Benton Street by State, by the High Tide Restaurant & Bar at the corner of Wilson and South Main Street, and on Hardy Street by Mason's Brewing Company.

Sometime next year the City of Brewer will extend the Riverwalk another 300 yards south past Mason's Brewing Company where there currently is a dirt parking lot and a grassy trajectory of the Penobscot River.
