State Police spent the night looking for a man from Litchfield who allegedly kidnapped a woman on Tuesday.

UPDATE: Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland says Tilley was taken into custody Wednesday morning, after two local residents spotted him along Dead River Road around 5 a.m. Police were able to track him, with help from a Sagadahoc County Sheriff's K9, and arrest him without incident. He's been charged with kidnapping and domestic violence assault and was taken to the Kennebec County Jail.

Troopers originally became alerted by a 911 text to their department. When the woman failed to respond to their attempts at reaching her, they pinged her cellphone. That led them to a house at 746 Dead River Road, belonging to her boyfriend's mother.

Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland says the woman is now safe, but 36-year-old Joshua Dube remains at large. Police say he fled into the woods near the home at roughly 9:00 Tuesday night. A search was launched in the area but, so far, there's been no sign of the man who's described as 5'6" tall and 190 pounds, with brown hair and eyes.

Additional police patrols were covering the area overnight.
