Police: Speed, Alcohol Possible Factors In Fiery Hermon Crash [VIDEO]
No one was seriously hurt when a car rolled over in Hermon and caught fire over the weekend.
The Penobscot County Sheriff's Office says the accident happened at around 9:35 Saturday evening. A Chrysler Pacifica that was traveling on Route 2 in Hermon left the road and struck several trees before it rolled over in a driveway. The sole occupant of the car was able to get out safely, despite the fact that the vehicle immediately caught fire.
The Hermon and Levant Fire Departments were able to extinguish the fire before it spread to a house that was only a few feet away. Hermon Ambulance took the driver to the hospital with minor injuries.
Officials say speed and alcohol are believed to have been factors in the accident that remains under investigation.
