Have You Heard This Viral Song Parody About Cooper Flagg?
A song parody about Newport, Maine native Cooper Flagg has recently gone viral on TikTok, already racking up over a million views.
People are seriously too talented these days—every time a new meme or trend pops up, someone’s already made a full-blown remix, parody, or masterpiece before you even finish scrolling. This new viral song on TikTok is no exception—it’s taken off just as fast as the person it’s about.
For those who may somehow not know—or aren’t quite up to date—let’s catch everyone up: who exactly is Cooper Flagg?
Cooper Flagg is the unanimous top prospect in the 2025 NBA Draft Class—ask any top publication, media member, analyst, or honestly, anyone with common sense, and they’ll tell you the same. What makes it all the more special for us is that Cooper isn’t just a national phenom—he’s our phenom, growing up in Newport, Maine, attending Nokomis Regional High School, and now projected to be drafted by the Dallas Mavericks, who won the draft lottery on May 12th.

So, given all of that, what are the details on this viral song about Cooper Flagg? What song does it parody? Who performed it—and why?
On Tuesday, May 13th—just one day after the 2025 NBA Draft Lottery locked in which team would get the #1 pick—TikTok user ‘CooperFlaggLover’ uploaded a viral video celebrating Cooper Flagg.
The video acts as a highlight reel, featuring clips from Flagg’s time at Duke and photoshopped images of him in a Dallas Mavericks uniform.
Set to the tune of Michael Jackson’s 'Man in the Mirror,' the parody swaps the title to 'Man on the Mavericks,' with lyrics claiming Flagg as the new face of the franchise—using a song that came out 18 years before Flagg was even born.
Funny enough, this is actually a parody of a parody, drawing inspiration from the viral 'Man on the Lakers' video that dropped back in March.
That original parody, centered around LeBron James, earned tens—if not hundreds—of millions of impressions on the platform.
And there you have it—potentially, very soon, Cooper Flagg could indeed be the ‘Man on the Mavericks,’ just like the song suggests.
What are your thoughts on the parody from TikTok user CooperFlaggLover? How excited are you to see Cooper become the Man on the Mavericks? We’d love to hear from you! Feel free to join the conversation by messaging us on the app.
