Somerset Co UBM Madison Combines Halloween with Thanksgiving
Sort of. Love combining holidays? The United Bikers of Maine is well known for its Christmas Toy Run annually. And we look forward to it again.
But let’s not jump the gun.
First Halloween and Thanksgiving. Tomorrow night, the Somerset County United Bikers of Maine will hold its 2021 Halloween Dance at the American Legion Hall in Madison. And all proceeds will go to its Thanksgiving food baskets program.
Ready to dance? Can you do the Monster Mash?
The Halloween dance will feature live music from Holy Smoke. It is 21+, open to the public, and only costs $15 a couple, or $10 if you’re going solo. The money goes to helping Mainers less fortunate enjoy their Thanksgiving dinner.
The evening begins at 8 PM and goes to the witching hour of midnight. There will be a Costume Contest. So dress in your Halloween best and maybe win a prize. Or the 50/50 raffle no matter what your costume looks like.
Sounds like a fun community evening in Madison tomorrow night, and it’s a great cause. If you would like to contribute to the event but are not able to attend the dance, donations can be mailed to: United Bikers of Maine Somerset County, P.O. Box 186, Madison, Maine 04950. Write Thanksgiving food baskets in the memo line on your check.
But hopefully, you’ll get into the spirit in Halloween costume and attend the event tomorrow, and dance the night away.
“I was working in the lab, late one night. When my eyes beheld an eerie sight. For my monster from the slab began to rise, and suddenly to my surprise, he did the mash, the monster mash, it was a graveyard smash.”
