Westbrook Police are asking for the public's help locating a missing 87-year-old man.

UPDATE: Mr. Bosse has been found safe and sound in Scarborough. A convenience store clerk received the Silver Alert through the lottery machine at the very moment when Bosse was shopping in the store. He was taken to the local police station to await the arrival of his family. Westbrook Police thanked everyone who kept their eyes open for the missing man.

Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland says family members spoke to Hermon Bosse of Westbrook on Monday. They tried calling him yesterday and, when he didn't answer the phone, visited his apartment. There was no one at the residence and his car was gone. Officials say Bosse was in the hospital recently for some health issues and is in the early stages of dementia.

Family members say he's believed to be driving a Grey Honda Accord, with Maine license plate 8759ME. A statewide Silver Alert has been issued for the man who stands 5'11" tall, with grey hair and blue eyes.

Anyone who thinks they may have seen Bosse or his vehicle is asked to contact their local law enforcement or Detective Dan Violette at (207) 854-0644, extension 1.
