The Aroostook County Sheriff's Office has canceled a Silver Alert for a missing woman from Hammond who suffers from dementia.

UPDATE: Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss says Joan Loendorf has been located and is safe. 

Officials say Joan Loendorf, 69, was last seen at approximately 7:00 Saturday evening, walking about a half mile from her home at 1374 B Road in Hammond. It's unclear in which direction she was walking. According to the Sheriff's Office, she had been treated at a local hospital earlier in the day and released. Witnesses say she was wearing a lime green coat and blue jeans. Loendorf is a white female, 5 feet 8 inches tall, about 150 pounds, with white hair and black eyes.

Hammond is located just west of Houlton.

Anyone with information of her whereabouts or who thinks they may have seen Loendorf is urged to contact the Aroostook County Sheriff's Office or call 911.
