Maine State Police Say a Mechanical Failure Caused a Fatal Motorcycle Crash on I-95
The motorcyclists were traveling north at mile marker 120 in Sidney when the two bikes collided.
An initial investigation into the circumstances of the crash determined that a 2006 Harley Davidson, driven by Robinson, and a 2008 Harley Davidson, driven by Lancaster, had just passed another vehicle, and were merging into the right lane.
It appears Robinson's motorcycle had a mechanical defect which caused the brakes to seize.

Robinson was ejected from the motorcycle and pronounced deceased at the scene.
Lancaster was riding in close proximity to Robinson and was unable to avoid the crash.
He was ejected from his motorcycle and sustained minor injuries.
