Show Your Tats At A Tattoo Contest To Benefit Veterans On Sunday

This Sunday at Jeff's Catering in Brewer, Diversified Ink is hosting a Tattoo Contest, and the proceeds are going to the Maine Veterans Project.

Th-ink (see what I did there?!) you've got the right stuff? There are several different categories to win prizes in.

• Best Black and Gray - small and large
• Best Color - small and large
• Best Sleeve
• Best Military Themed Tattoo
• Best Cover Up

If you want to participate in the best cover up, you'll need to bring a "before" photo, so judges can see both versions. The prizes are pretty sweet, too. First place in each category will win a $200 gift certificate, and a special commemorative mug. Second place will get prize ribbons, and Best In Show will get a plaque that will also feature an image of the winning tattoo.

Plus, of course, there will be food, music, cash bar, and a slew of cool raffle prizes too. Admission is only $10, and of course it's free for veterans. It starts at 1:00p.m. and goes until 6:00p.m. And you definitely don't need to be in the contest to attend. Spectators are more than welcome.

So make sure your sweet tats are looking their finest, and maybe I'll run into you there. I even thought about entering my Simpson's sleeve, but I don't want to win in front of everybody. Hahahaha. And it's for an absolutely awesome cause. Maybe we'll see each other there!
