Police are investigating a shooting in Lincoln on Wednesday night that left one woman dead and sent another person to the hospital.

UPDATE: State Police have arrested Adam Groves, 44, of Lincoln and charged him with murder for the death of Pauline Taylor, 63. Taylor is Groves' mother. n and the cause of death is gunshot wounds. Detectives are still actively investigating.

A 911 call from 940 Transalpine Road in Lincoln at around 8:00 Wednesday night, sent officers and an ambulance to the residence. When Lincoln Police Officers arrived, they found the resident of the house, 63-year-old Pauline Taylor, deceased, and another person who was injured. Officials say the woman died as the result of a shooting. The other person, whose name has not been released, was taken to a local hospital.

The Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit is now investigating the circumstances leading up to this incident. Taylor's body has been transported to the Medical Examiner's Office in Augusta, for an autopsy. Police say there is no ongoing threat to the public.
