The Salvation Army invites residents to help them fill a truck with donated toys Saturday in Brewer.

Every child deserves a few surprises on Christmas morning, including opening some of the toys they're hoping for. This is the motivation for the folks at the Salvation Army as they work, each year, to collect donated toys, which will be distributed to less fortunate kids. But they can't fulfill those wishes without your help.

So, this Saturday, volunteers with the Salvation Army will park a truck in the Brewer Walmart parking lot, in hopes of filling it with presents. Between 10 and 3, donations can be dropped off at the truck. And there will be volunteers with lists of suggested toys if you're not sure what to buy. Together, we can help make it a happier holiday for lots of Maine children.
