The Bangor area is in store for another annual celebration of one of the area's oldest and most beloved towns and traditions that brings the community together and that brings a fun time for the family on the banks of the Penobscot.

Old Town Riverfest will be returning to the old mill town from September 23rd to September 25th.

Old Town's Annual Riverfest

Few details are out right now but typically, the weekend-long event happens predominantly at Binette Park on the Penobscot River, where tents and vendors will set up activities, food trailers, rides, and more. The community comes by to enjoy the variety of booth offerings that has something for everyone.

Past Special Events At the Old Town Riverfest

In years past, the festival has included local music acts, talent shows, fireworks, poney rides, wagon rides, and of course the classic Riverfest parade, which includes firefighters and school kids.

Another past event that was very exciting for the residents of Old Town and for all of those in the Bangor area was the performance of pop group Karmin at the 2012 Riverfest in Old Town. Part of the pop group includes an Old Town native that brought the Top 40 act to the town's annual event.

Awaiting More Details for the 2022 Riverfest

Again, few details are available right now but be sure to stay up to date with all things Old Town Riverfest by following the 'Old Town Riverfest' Facebook page. We'll be anxiously waiting for those details because we know it'll be a good time for the whole family.

Here's a little tour of the mill town just to get us in the Riverfest mood.
