Reward Offered In Firearms Burglary Case
A reward is being offered for information that leads to a suspect that stole firearms from two Newport businesses.
Newport Police said in a Facebook post that they're investigating two business burglaries that involved the theft of firearms. Jon's Redemption was broken into during the early morning hours of July 14th, and the Money Shop was burglarized on July 1st just after 4 a.m.
Pictures of the suspect in The Money Shop burglary have been posted on the department's Facebook page. In addition, a reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information that leads to the suspect's arrest. The reward is being provided by the ATF and two other firearms associations.
Anyone who thinks they may have information about the two incidents is asked to call Newport Police at 368-3263. The case is being investigated by Newport and State Police and the ATF.
