Update: Report Of Suspicious Activity Leads To Search For Missing Family
Update: According to the Augusta Police Department, the family has been located.
"We are very pleased to announce that all of the persons listed in the previous media release have been located and are safe; and the family members have been notified. We would like to take a moment and thank our community partners, media partners and law enforcement family for all of the hard work and tireless hours following up on leads to help resolve this incident."
What started out as a report of suspicious activity on Glenridge Drive in Augusta now has authorities searching for the location of a woman and 4 children from the area.
Police are looking for any information that would help them verify the safety of the family.
Missing are 28-year-old Augusta resident Mawj Al Hilfi (pictured below) a nine-year-old girl named Zainab Al Hilfi, an eight-year-old girl named Assent Al Hilfi, and two four-year-old boys named Mohammed and Abbes Al Hilfi.
Augusta Police believe the individuals might be traveling in an light-colored SUV.
"They were last seen around 8:00 PM on June 30th, 2022. They may possibly be driving the following vehicle: 2015 silver Toyota Highlander, Maine passenger car plate, 3308 WS."
