Presque Isle Brothers Found Safe, Father Is In Custody

Two missing brothers from Presque Isle have been found safe and their father arrested, after he took them out of the state.

Presque Isle Police announced on the department's Facebook page Tuesday evening that Joel Strother had been arrested and was taken to jail. He and the children, 12-year-old Joel and 10-year-old Carter, were located in North Carolina.

Updates on the pursuit of the boys have been shared on Facebook, and Presque Isle Police say it paid off. The information that led to Strother's arrest and the recovery of the boys was the result of a single tip of someone who saw their shared post and decided to call. They offered their thanks to everyone on Facebook who helped them get the word out.
