A front bringing gusts of up to 40 miles per hour is expected to move through northern and eastern Maine on Sunday.

Crews have been placed on standby to ensure a quick response if wind gusts lead to outages, according to a news release from Emera Maine.

“Gusts of 35 to 40 mph are expected only during limited periods as the storm moves across the state, but winds in that range have the potential to cause damage,” said Kevin Peterson, Storm Manager and Manager of Customer Contact Center Operations. “We’re hoping for the best and preparing for the worst.”
