Traffic is flowing in both directions this morning on Main Street in Bangor after a water main break forced its closure yesterday.

The water main burst on Tuesday evening, filling the roadway with water and pushing up pieces of pavement. The Bangor Water District on Wednesday said another leak developed at about 5 a.m. Wednesday during the repair process. Officials say the repair process has been complicated by the presence of a brick sewer line in the middle of the excavation space.

Main Street has been reopened to traffic in both directions this morning and water has been restored to all customers, except Dutton House.
