Police have identified a body that washed up on a beach in the Washington County town of Robbinston.

Officials say the body was found at around 2:30 Tuesday afternoon. It was taken to the Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy, to determine identity and cause of death. Police told WABI-TV that there are no open missing person cases for that area. Since Robbinston is across an inlet from Canada, authorities in that country were also notified.

Now, police say the body has been identified as a New Brunswick man. According to the BDN, the 64-year-old from St. Andrews was reported missing earlier this month. Officials say there's no indication that he died in Maine, and so the case will be investigated by Canadian authorities.

We'll update this story as more details become available.
