Police are looking for a suspect in a Skowhegan stabbing incident, who is now considered armed and dangerous.

32-year-old Christopher Monroe is originally from Rhode Island, but was last known to be living in Waterville. He's suspected of stabbing 29-year-old Christopher Hongo of Norridgewock numerous times, in the chest and neck area, on New Year's Day. Hongo underwent emergency surgery and was in stable condition, at last report.

Monroe has been charged by Skowhegan Police with elevated aggravated assault for the attack on Alder Street in Skowhegan. He was last seen in a red van, that has now been recovered, but with no sign of the suspect. Monroe is now considered armed and dangerous, so police are urging anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact them immediately.
