Police Issue a Silver Alert for a 16-Year-Old Girl with Autism
The Androscoggin County Sheriff's Office has issued a silver alert for a 16-year-old girl who's gone missing.
Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson, Shannon Moss says Asia Brown of Livermore Falls was last seen Saturday night at approximately 8:30 at her home on Campground Road. When her father woke up Sunday morning, he discovered her missing. Officials say Asia has high-functioning autism and requires medication.
She is described as a white female, 5'4" tall, 140 pounds, with blond hair and blue eyes. Police say her direction of travel is unknown. Although it's unclear what she was wearing when she left, the Maine Warden Service says Saturday night she was wearing blue jeans and a lighter-colored t-shirt.
Anyone who sees Asia Brown or has information about her whereabouts should call 911 or the Androscoggin County Sheriff's Office at 207-753-2599.
Silver Alerts were originally reserved for Maine's Senior population but, earlier this year, legislation was expanded to include people with disabilities.
