Police in Texas, Massachusetts Arrest 3 for Machias Murder
Three people have been arrested in other states in connection with the murder of a New York man in Machias.
One man in Massachusetts and two men in Texas were arrested in connection with the shooting death of 17-year-old Brandin Guerrero of Massapequa, New York. Guerrero was killed in Machias, Maine on November 4th. Guerrero's body was found outside a home and police say the murder was drug-related.
Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss says Nathanael Genao, 23 of New Bedford, Massachusetts was arrested early Friday morning without incident at his Massachusetts home and charged with felony murder. The New Bedford Police and Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section took him into custody, in cooperation with an investigation by the Maine State Police.
On Friday evening, Police in Fort Worth, Texas arrested Juan Ortiz, 27 of Concord, New Hampshire and charged him with murder. Also arrested was Emanuel Ramos, 30 of Roxbury, Massachusetts who was charged with felony murder.
The Maine State Police continue to investigate this case.
