Police in Waterville had blocked off streets near College Avenue where they say someone was actively firing a gun.

UPDATE: Waterville Police say this situation has been resolved. More details are expected later today. College Avenue and Highwood Streets are now open to traffic.

Multiple agencies, including Waterville Police, Maine State Police, Oakland Police, and Fairfield Police are all on the scene of some sort of incident in Waterville, that appears to have been going on since early evening. Roadblocks have been set up at College Avenue and Highwood Street. All that's confirmed, at this hour, is that someone is actively discharging a firearm. There's no word on whether anyone's been hurt.

Police say they have the area contained, but are asking people to avoid the area, until the situation can be resolved.
