The Maine Chief Medical Examiner's Office has ruled the deaths of two men in the town of Poland as homicides.

Who Are the Victims?

Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss says the two deceased men have been identified as Shoeb Mohamed Adan, 21, of Springfield, Massachusetts and Mohamed Aden, 16, of Lewiston, Maine. Moss says the two men are not related.

Where Were the Bodies Discovered?

Deputies from the Androscoggin County Sheriff's Department went to 205 Tripp Lake Road in Poland for a welfare check at approximately 7:18 Tuesday morning, February 21st. When they arrived, the Deputies found the two men, who were deceased when they arrived. The Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit and Maine State Police Southern Field Division were notified and helped the Deputies secure the scene.

How Did They Die?

The cause of death for the two men has not been released, but the Chief Medical Examiner says they were both murdered. Police have been conducting interviews and following up on leads in Maine and Massachusetts, trying to determine the circumstances leading up to their deaths.

UPDATE: Over the weekend, police arrested Aaron Aldrich, 46, of Auburn, Maine, and charged him with two counts of murder. Aldrich is currently in the Rockingham County Jail in Brentwood, New Hampshire on property crime charges not related to this case.
